Otsuka deeply values the role healthcare providers have in the success of developing new products for better health worldwide. One way healthcare providers can contribute to clinical research is by becoming Principal Investigators (PI) themselves.  In this role, they would be expanding accessibility to clinical trials to their patients as well as potential participants within their local community. Some common responsibilities of a PI are seeing patients enrolled in a clinical trial, ensuring their safety, and monitoring for changes in the patient’s condition. To learn more about the role of a Principal Investigator, please view this resource.

Healthcare providers who are not working at a clinical research site can also contribute to the discovery of new treatments and therapies by discussing clinical trials with your patients or becoming a referring site. Patients have high levels of trust in their provider and 64% of the public believes people should learn about clinical research through discussions with them1. These discussions could include sharing general information about clinical trials in your waiting rooms, sharing specific trial opportunities with patients, as well as referring patients to sites conducting the clinical trial. By sharing this information, you may not only help your patient access investigational interventions, but also help contribute to improving health care options worldwide.

Consider joining the Otsuka HCP Registry to learn more information about clinical trials in your area you can share with patients, information on becoming a clinical research site, and printable resources for your waiting room.

This information will be securely stored in Otsuka’s clinical research site registry.
